.22lr shotshells

Great for shooting mice. Number 12 shot has no penetration. Every chicken you shoot at more than 15 feet, will fly away wounded.

I tried these out in Saskatchewan once in a friend's barn infested with pigeons.

Average range was about 8-10 feet or so.
Never killed a single bird, with 22 LR birdshot, I think all I did was comb thier feathers forcefully!

Some-one else said, that the 22 magnum birdshot has a better effect on small critters.

shoulda mentioned, but everyone probley assumed anyways, both guns are rifled. apparently there are purpose designed smooth bore .22 shotguns, but ive never had the oportunity to own one.

what i found funny is 3/3 the handgun made a tighter pattern, I would have guessed the opposite.

Perhaps because the longer barrel length damages or slows down more pellets.

I have found the 22 shotshells much more effective ......................... than BLANKS, but not by much.........

Thanks for posting that. I dont think Id ever fire a .22 shotshell at any animal, except maybe a mouse at 2 yards. Its just likely to wound most animals

It'd be nice to see how a smooth bore would pattern.

22 shot shells

Shot tons of spruce grouse at about 10 feet with an old Stevens single shot smoothbore 22. Don't remember any of them getting away wounded. Have to go for head shots, though.

I once shot a squirrel in the face from about 10 ft. with one of those. It snickered at me and sauntered away.
Useless!
