I am shopping for a pistol chambered in 22 short. Is this ammo the same price than the std 22lr? Can it be bought in brick of 500? Cheers,

Why? I think you can shoot 22 short out of a 22 LR without issue, other than cleaning it well, cause there will be a build up, and the 22 lr will have a hard time chambering. A semi probably wouldn't cycle properly without lighter recoil springs.

Is it a recoil issue?

You can get bricks of it, more expensive then 22lr. There are quite a few olympic style 22 short pistols. Any .22 revolver will shoot shorts as well.

Sorry, I failed to mention I want to decide if I buy a second-hand olympic pistol i just found. To be honest, I'd rather the gun to be chambered in std 22lr, but it isn't... and I the price is really low.

A recoil issue with a .22, lol, that's great one:D
