OSA has shot a reduced range SR course at MilCun, on two occasions. Matches 1-16 at 100m and closer, rather than 500 and in.
Targets were exactly reduced in scale, course of fire, positions exactly the same. Rundowns & timings were adjusted.
We found that .22 rifles or ARs with .22 conversion units lacked accuracy to be effective on the scaled targets.
It was our hope that a .22 course of fire would have practice value, and would be able to be conducted on a conventional 100m/y range.
There is potential, but it needs to be refined.
Whether this happens will really depend on interest.
 
You can run a 22 for CQB :p.....of course you can only shoot for honors. I wanted to set up a new style of competitions (SR) with the ORA at Borden, that would just be rimfire...but the thought of the range clean up was a nightmare :(
