have been shooting the federal tnts for a little over a year now. WOW. i am just amazed at how lethal they make a 22 mag on pests. last weekend i shot two grackles with this bullet, at 35 yards the bird was sawed in half! at 75 it looked like i was playing some sort of carnival game: the bird bounced about 2 feet in the air and fell down stone dead.

very accurate out of my cz.

far better than the 17 hmr i used to own!

anyone else like these bullets?

tnt

i've been using them for years. look at the size of the hole in the bullet. it makes everything it hits come apart. it will KILL yotes up close, when you call them in. if you hit a gopher just rite it will get very long(4x).

I have some CCI TNT's that I haven't been able to try on any game yet. You say Feder make some TNT's. Would you mind posting a pic of them? How do they shoot in your rifle?

I scrapped my .17 HMR for a .22 Mag a few years back and have never regretted it.

No need to post a pic. Found one. So, would these be pretty much the same round as the CCI 'TNT's?

can't speak as to the quality of the ccis, but they should be the same lead at least. most accurate bullet in my cz is the federal tnt, i have yet to shoot the cci bullet, but i bought some over the weekend to try.

so agree that the hmr sucks-a poor killer in my experience. i cannot believe the difference in lethality between the 17 hmr/vmax vs the 22mag/tnt.

basically i use my 22 mag for pests and magpies etc, i would leave the larger stuff to my hornet.

Yeah, I've been spoiled. Gopher shootin with the .22 ain't fun anymore. After making them pop with the HMR (which I've since sold) and the centerfires, the 22 just isn't as exciting. I've got a few boxes of CCI TNT's and rem premier 33gr VMAX to play with in my new WMR, hopefully it'll like them; I'd hate it if I had to go with the less dramatic 40gr or FMJ's. The TNT's just look MEAN :)
.

Still, my Hornet will probably continue to get the most mileage this year

the tnts are mean! for its size, it really smacks the sh*t out things. not neccessarily as destructive perhaps as the vmax's, just plain lethal.

Have you gotten your Hornet yet?
I know you were looking pretty seriously a while back.

No not yet. I have changed my mind for now. I am looking at getting a .25 cal Springer air rifle. It would be great to have at the cottage when I visit. My .22 magnum is perfect for me now. Oh by the way, when are we going gopher hunting?:dancingbanana:
