22WRF Ammo

I noticed an ad in the EE for some 22WRF ammo. The Gent is asking $20.00 a box for it, listing it as "rare" I would take issue with the price and "rarity" of this ammo. The local store has it on the shelf for just over half that price, and they seem to have a bit of it. Anyone else seen this stuff at their locale? Winchester makes a run of it every now and then. CCI boxe of fifty 6.50 ,45 grain! All day long (should be the same price as .22 WMH!! Not Rare !

wrf IIFC is an older cartridge & not the same as 22 mag. I could be wrong, it happened once before. AJ

I believe that it lies between 22mag and 22long in cartridge length, and can be shot in 22mag rifles.
I've seen it at the store as well, so unless he has some long discontinued brand, it is not rare. KD

Certain cartridge books list the 22 WRF as an "obsolete" cartridge, presumably because no one is manufacturing firearms in that caliber anymore. "Rare"? No, it can still be found on shelves for less than 10.00/box if you look around. Bought 2 boxes early this spring from Milarm.
