22WRM AR 15 Clone?

Does anyone out there know if such an animal exists? A 22 mag semi auto AR 15 look alike that is. It would be like owning a non restricted. Well half a one. Guess I could make one out of a Remington 597 if theyre any good.

GSG makes a few really neat looking rifles like that, but unfortunately they are not imported into Canada.
Ruger makes an SR22 which is available if you can find one.

Not an AR lookalike, but the Tanfoglio Appeal is a bull pup 22 WRM.

From what I recall the wmr has issues with semi auto. Thus why you dont see many.
IMO norinco 5.56 isnt that much more than wmr. If your going to shoot restricted, why not do it with the right ammo.
A 22 AR is a trainer. Cheap to shoot. Then use some 5.56 to do some real shooting.

Never heard of an SR22 in WMR, if there is such a thing I'd like to know where...

The hmr was the problem in a semi not the wmr.

Thanks for the come backs gentlemen and or ladies it confirms my research. I may go for a non restricted centre fire semi auto as I don t need anymore restricted firearms wilderness carry crossing the border etc. as things are to day.
