24" barrel for ducks/geese?

I really like the swing of a shorter barreled gun....but I'm wondering about the disadvantages of a shorter barrel for waterfowl.

Any advice?

I like 24" barrels too.

The disadvantages are:

- shorter sightline (reduced accuracy)

- slightly more felt recoil because the weight of the shotgun will be less than a longer barreled one.

Add muzzle blast to that list, especially in a goose pit with hunting buddies.

Good point. Especially some of the whiners I hunt with........
(Think I could have a 65", fully insulated barrel made up for my 1300? That MIGHT keep e'em happy)

I don't see any problem. And remember, there's no such thing as a sighting PLANE on a shotgun; it's a sight LINE as somebody pointed out. And a line is a line no matter how long or short it is. You'll shoot it just as well.
