24" or longer barrel lengths .22lr

Gunlaker: I must say I have a few nice vintage target rimfire rifles myself and that rifle you have is really superb. Is this a Unertl or Redfield scope ?

I shoot a CPA Stevens schuetzen rifle with a 28" barrel and sub-sonic match ammunition definitely makes it out of the barrel and shoots very well.

That is a beauty of a rifle. Looks like a reproduction of the fanciest model of the Stevens Walnut Hill? At auction the originals go for astronomical values at auctions in the US.

What brand of "sub-sonic match" ammo are you shooting?

That Aguilla Colibri is significantly slower than the sub-sonic they produce or any other sub-sonic ammo that I have seen. Results in rifles with the sub-sonic is okay but not on par with the std velocity that Aguilla offers. I have not yet tested the Colibri that I picked up but was only going to shoot it in old antique single shot pistols that I have.

In a nice drop action single shot like that rifle you have it would be easy to visually check the bore after each shot before loading a new round. Not easy in a bolt action and it makes me nervous since I have seen a couple 22 rifles with bulged barrels.

It's a reproduction of a Stevens #52 Shuetzen Jr. CPA rifles in Pennsylvania makes them. They make a 44 1/2 action, but slightly wider so that it uses the same barrel threads as a Winchester 1885 so it can be chambered for bigger cartridges like the .45-90. This rifle has 3 barrels and two breech blocks so I can shoot .32-40, .38-55, and .22LR. The .22 barrel is a Douglas XX with whatever match chamber that CPA uses. I've been using a bunch of different ammo types. It likes Lapua Centre X and Midas +. I have a lot of SK Standard Plus that shoots pretty well too.

I am a big fan of falling block rifles for a bunch of different reasons. Mostly because I like the way they look to be honest though :)
