.240 WBY vs. Coyotes (Graphic)

Well i took the new customized .240 Wby out today to see what kind of damage it would do to coyotes. Shooting 70gr Ballistic Tips going somewhere around 3600-3700 fps. First stand in the morning I called in a double, first one was @ 123 yds , second 171 yds. Needless to say it dropped both in their tracks. After this I put it away and went to my .222 . This will be a great round if they ever bring back the Sask coyote bounty.

Nice! Just change your bullet if your wanting to keep fur. A Barnes is really easy on fur.

No this is the first outing with it , this rifle will be just a coyote eliminator. I just picked up a Wby S2 in .240 and it will be my go to deer rifle. I just simply love this round.

Lol jaydog, it actually takes longer....I have had to skin all kinds and hate the stuff that looks like it was hit with a German 88.

I shelved my 25-06 for coyote hunting this year (similar results), I got tired of leaving $100 bills in the field.

Nice job on those coyotes! You probably already know this, but use a different bullet if you want to save the hide, lol. I find the Hornady VMAX bullets do a great job on coyotes. Small entrance hole, no exit wound. The high velocity might also be an issue, lol. What dia. bullet does the .240 use anyway?
