went out to the range last weekend with the new 240 weatherby, sweet gun. using factory rounds (100 gr) shooting .75 inch groups at 100 yards,my shooting was more like 1.5 inch groups but my shooting buddy was getting the tighter groups,quite happy with the set up, VX 2 4x12 on a rail seems to come up to the shoulder good, hopefully it will drop a couple of deer this fall,after lots more practice of course:D
 
Path, I haven't loaded for it yet, couldn't find brass so I had to buy a box of factory ammo(ouch!).still can't find brass.Can any one help me with that????

I bought mine last october from him!
 
Just pick up a 243. Much more bang for your $$$ that coming from a guy that has a S2 in 240. Mine shoots good but brass is tough to find and I'm not seeing the advantage of burning 10+gr powder to get 200fps.

Cool round though.

My god man. 1.5 inch groups! Sounds like you're flinching.

I'll buy that gun off you for cheap. ;)

But, it is a Wby in .240 and not a .243Win.
You'll understand better when you inhale the smell of that burned powder from the .240 ;)
Just teasin, sometimes those lessons(grn. for fps) just have to be experienced for ones self.

little late with this but after some experimentation the round of choice is 95 grain nosler ballistic tip with 54.4 grains of 4831 H @ right around 3300 fps

I shoot the 95 grain Partition out of my 6mm Remington at 3215 average for 5 shots, using Norma MRP
Let me tell you, this kills deer very well indeed!!

If 3 shots are outside of 1" at 100 with my 6mm, I know I screwed up, not the rifle, lol.

I shoot 55 grain nosler BT's out of my 240wby euromark @ 4050@ the muzzle,useing varget.if 5 shots @ 100meters are outside an inch,ive screwed up
 
Nice to hear there's some 240s out there. When I built mine about 15 yrs. ago the round was pretty much a dead horse. Brass has always been an issue, hard to find and expensive. It's a great gun for deer and coyotes.
