My vote and money goes to 243 Win even if it way less versatile but make sure you get a 1 in 7 inch barrel twist to be able to shoot 115gr VLD bullets!

Stay away from the 6.5 Curse, 6mm is a winner while the 6.5mm is Cursed for Eternity in North America (which killed the 6.5 Rem Mag and 264 Win Mag, will probably and unfortunately kill the 260 Rem).

The ugly truth is that 6mm is the best, most versatile smallish caliber, and that 7mm is the best, most versatile medium caliber not 6.5.

According to this the standard .260 is just begging to use the Berger 130gr. You should be able to drive it more than the 6.5x47 and it has better BC than the 142gr MK. Don't know if that are actual figures in real downrange results.

the 123 smk is nothing to be over looked. better bc then the regular 140smk and decent price.
