Ya, I bought about 5 lbs. of it from Chas. Parkinson in London years ago for about $2 a lb. In my .243 Savage model 100(?) with any 100 gr. bullet and especially 95 gr. Noslers, I could bench rest three shots into 3/4" at 100 yards and shot many deer with it. I also chronographed the loads but do not have my data at hand.

H450, a lovely fine ball powder metered very accurately.

I am truly living in the past!

Yup I used it in a 280 and 30-06 for quite awhile and was my go to powder...but that was awhile ago...

With 100 grain bullets I use 40 grains of H4350 (max) for close to 3000fps... I also use a full 41 grains of H4350 with 95 grain Hornady SST's... this is my go to load for hunting... very accurate and consistent.

For heavy 95-1005gr 6mm bullets, I've tested H4350, H4831 and Retumbo extensively.
My choice is H4350 because it delivers superior accuracy with many 95-105gr 6mm bullets.

Please be careful since it is a maximum load and start 10% lower.
My 100gr bullet load is 40gr of H4350 with a Federal Match primer which delivers excellent accuracy and top velocity.
H4831 is also an excellent choice but I much prefer H4350 and would not recommend Retumbo (does not meter well and produces huge muzzle blast).

I must be doing something wrong, because my standard load for the Nosler or Hornady 100 grainers uses 4064. I get great groups no matter if it is -10 C or + 20 C.

Ya....I'm a wuss...none of this -20 stuff for me, I'll stay home, warm my feet in some woolies by the fire or load more shells. I'll buy some beef to tide me over...yuk yuk!
