hi guys, I just got a .243 rifle and will reload :)

please share your "formula of happiness" for this cartridge: powder, bullet, bullet weight, jump :)))))

twist is 1:10, so bullet weight is up to 100gr :))))))

thanks a lot
best regards
K

I have a BSA with a 20" bbl.
My loads so far are:

70gr Nosler Ballistic Tip
Federal Brass
CCI 200 Primers
42.0gr IMR 4064
COL 2.625"
This load gives me 3/4" groups. I want to try adjusting the seating depth to see if it will tighten up a bit but haven't got a round-tuit yet. :)

75gr Hornady HP (Flat base)
Remmington brass
CCI 200 primers
37.2gr Hogdgon Varget
COL 2.64"
This load gives 3/4-7/8" groups. Again, I want to play with seating depth on this one.
Both loads COL are straight from the book. I know I can seat them further out but haven't tried them yet.

My next load will be with some 100gr Sierra semi-pointed and some old 100gr CIL semi-pointed flat based. I'm going to try these with some IMR 4350 and maybe the 4064 as well.

Good luck and let us know how you make out! :D:D:D

Well I gotta tell ya somethin Pilgrim!!!(John Wayne ha ha)
For me Varget is the powder of choice in MY .243!
38gr of Varget pushing 65 gr V-Max. Federal primers and Win brass with a C.O.A.L of 2.606" works awsome in My Savage!!
Kills yotes DEAD!!!

I have loaded a pile of 243 and I have always had awsome luck with 95g nosler ballistic tips or hornady sst's infront of 41.5grains of H 4831. Federal brass and CCI large rifle primers

thanks guys :) will give a try to SGK 85gr and Hornady SST 100 gr with IMR4350 with 210 primers and Win brass....
will post results as soon as I get to the range :))))

You'll be fine with any heavy bullet. 85 grains and up. You will have to work up the load. Mine(1 in 9.5) likes IMR4350 with 90 and 105 grain bullets.
