so in making a newbie mistake with the purchase of an axis action thinking savage is savage I have an option as new order for a .308 vlp back log 6 months here in canada I can perchase a .243 vlp would this be competitive to 600-900 meters @ 1090.00 + tax and shipping from Elwood epps... I will be hard pressed to shoot a full schedual next year but I need triger time and this rifle would fit the factory class f class any input will be appreciated .

I have one , and believe me you won't be
disapointed
I tried the 105 amax and couldn't do
anything so i'm running with the 87 vmax
and really happy
I shot at 800yd max

243 is hard on barrels and to be competitive, you would want to use the heaviest bullets meaning you would want a 1:8 Twist. There is a limit to what you will get out of a stock factory rifle anyway, but there are better choices.
