I'm having a problem with the Hornady 95 gr SST chambering. According to the manual, min. COL for this load is 2.650"(using H4895). Cases are all full length sized and trimmed to 2.040". I am also using the same cases for NBT 95 grs which chamber fine with their COL set at 2.700" so I am ruling out the cases. I loaded a dummy round with the hornady's and it hits the lands at 2.695" in my rifle. So I tried out first at 2.675", bolt will not close without a lot of force. I finally got it close nicely at 2.650" but still needed a little more effort than usual. It is now centered on the cannelure. I tried another dummy at 2.645" and it closes nicely like factory ammo and my NBT's but my concern now is its under min. COL according to the manual. Can you guys give me some advice or pointers to check on to why it could be harder to chamber a round with min. COL even though the lands touch at 2.695"? Also I would like to get some feedback on other's COL for this bullet.
