1) It's called liability.

2) It was an excellent load in one 243 rifle I had, but too heavy in another 243 bolt gun.

We can't remind people too much, work up the load in your own rifle.

You are of course, correct in the reminding of the load work-up even with a proven recipe.

John Barsness has an article called "handloads that work". Every load that he as recommended has worked in my rifles. Here is what he suggests for the .243.\:

1st Choice - 55-75 grain varmint loads - Ramshot Big Game (49 grains for 55 grain NosBTs - 42 grains for 70-75 grain bullets

2nd Choice - 45.0 grains Varget with 55 grain bullets; 40.0 grains Varget with 70-75 grain bullets.
