So I am looking for some advice on this combination. I am working with a remington 700 varmint with the 26" 1:9 1/8 twist barrel. I have a load with H1000 giving me about 2745 FPS and it was the most promising out of my test charges. I am wondering if there are better powder options for this bullet in this gun. I am not blown away with the groups I am getting and I am also not too excited on the price and availability of H1000 on this side of the country. Does anyone have recommendations from personal experience before I burn up a bunch of different powder? I have quite a variety on hand and a decent selection locally. H1000 just seems to be a tough one to come by. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I use h 4350 for 105s in mine, and 100s and 90s in 2 others. great powder, excellent accuracy. goes 2800 fps with the 105s with middle of the road pressures id say. I have 13 firings on rem brass, full length size and trim is needed about every 4 firings. tried other powders back when the gun was new, hybrid 100v and supreme 780 I do believe, both were faster but not as accurate. supreme 780 went to over 3050 fps with the 105s!

Appears you have a factory rifle and barrel 1:9.125 twist. Hornady may say their bullet stabilizes in that twist and it may? If you were to try the berger 90VLD with H4350 I belive you will have tighter groups.
Enjoy

Thanks for the input. I have imr4350 on hand but I will try h4350 as well. I have Winchester brass and some brand new lapua for when I find my desired load. I did notice the velocity for supreme 780 was high in the book.
