New barrel's not even an option on my .375, as a new barrel's worth a couple grand due to the integral rib. There's also just no reason to shoot it that much, 99% of hunting rifles can last a lifetime, or two, with their original barrel. In fact, I played along, but have to say I can maintain extreme competence shooting that .375 even just before hunting season if need be. I've gone for a year with shoot maybe 50 rounds due to work and being overseas, and won a match the next spring. Shooting's up to the shooter, and how many rounds we need to be proficient varies. End hijack!
