I need to do a little loading for an old Remington 760 in 244 rem (slow twist version of a 6mm rem). My understanding is that they won't stabilize heavy bullets and prefer 80 or 90gr bullets. Anyone have a real accurate pet load for these things? Thanks...

tac; what do you want to do with your 244? Hunt deer?
If so, get your hands on some old Nosler 100 grain Semi-spitzer [almost a RN] Partitions. I have a 722 Remington in 244 with the 12" twist, and it shoots these really great. Nosler also makes a true spitzer Partition in 85 grain persuasion that works well in these rifles.
I'm using 45.5 grains of IMR4350 behind the 85's, and 45 grains of IMR4831 behind the 100's. Start lower and work up. Regards, Eagleye.

I plan on using the gun for coyotes but chances are I'll also carry it for deer from time to time. I hear a 100 gr rn shoots good out of them but I'd be happy with something 85-95 gr for deer if it shoots well.
