24ga shotguns

I have a beautiful French simplex 24 ga. single shot!

Simplex was a model produced by the French gun maker Manufrance. They also produced the Ideal and Robust. Well made stuff. Production of SxS shotguns by Manufrance dwarfs the production numbers of the big name American makers like Parker, Ithaca or Fox. 950,000 Robusts alone They made most of their SxS models available in 24 gauge.

Isn't this your perfect opportunity to acquire Magtec brass shot shells in 24 gauge and start reloading? That's what I would do if I had a 24. I'm doing this with a 16 side by side.

Found an old spent 24ga hull as I reached down to grab my 28ga hull while grouse hunting Northern Michigan....kinda cool, had never seen one.
Made me think, whose the guy carrying a 24ga?

a few years back, Beretta did a very limited run of the 686 Special O/U with double triggers in 24ga, they were originally ordered by a european firm, but the deal fell through and they never took delivery, then an american firm heard about it and bought them all, they sold them as a combo with some cases of Fiocchi shells.

at least that was the story i heard, it was posted on shotgun world i believe. Been a few threads over the years about this odd duck,

Or if you got deep pockets, Arrieta will make you one.

I have a very nice J.J. Sarasqueta sxs in 24 gauge. I had a local machinist make a set of .410 inserts for it and my young grandson uses it for grouse. Then I lucked into about a dozen boxes of 24 gauge ammo on an auction. I had already bought some full length 24 gauge brass from Rusty Wood Trading. Its a nice handling gun with either size of shells.
