Hi

I have some 130 grain ULD BT HP Match bullets I'd like to load up for my 25.06 and am looking for a starting point or way to determine a starting point for this over-weight bullet.
Most bullets and thus loads for a 25.06 top out at 120 grains. Is there a formula to extrapolate the data I need?
Anybody ever seen a listed load or shoot similiar?

Long range target (600+yd) is the goal with this bullet mainly,.....but, I wouldn't be past trying some penetration/expansion tests with a thought toward an elk or moose in the future with the 25.06 - Ruger bolt S/S with a 26" barrel.

Thanks

Whose bullet is it? You might consider searching on Google or one of the Long Range forum like LongRangeHunting.com as there should be someone there using the same bullet.

They are my bullets now, but I got them from Wildcat Bullets in Alberta, which was sold and shut down and has yet to return to production. They didn't have any load data at that time except for 1 load that didn't apply; for some forgotten reason.

Thanks for the ideas.

There's some 125 grain data on Steve's Reloading pages using several powders. Give you a place to start. 5 grains won't matter too much.
stevespages.com/page8a.htm No W's.
"...toward an elk or moose..." Not with a match bullet.

Running quickload for you it lists a 122gr. Remington SP extended range bullet. That should put you close. RL22 approx 57gr max, or a compressed load of Retumbo approx 63.5gr. max should give good velocity, complete powder burn, and efficiency.
