25-06 Bullet

The 120 Hornady is my long-time favourite bullet in the 25-06. That kind of accuracy is typical, and you will be very pleased with its performance on big game.

And, my rifles all used quite a bit more Re22 than your load.:)

I've shot 100 gr and 117 gr sierras out of my 25-06 AI. They both are extremely accurate. I picked up a couple of boxes of hornady 120 hp's, but have not tried them yet.

X2 on the 117gr Sierras for me.

In my 25-06 I use to shoot the 100 grain Nosler Partitions with IMR 4350 for a velocity of 3250 fps. If you are just shooting deer I had excellent results with accuracy and performance with these bullets. If you are going to use them on bigger animals I would go with the heavier 120 grain pills. Good luck

I have just recieved my Weatherby Sporter and am looking for a bullet.
The twist rate is 1 in 10
I have tried some Core loks and they do not group all that well, 3" at 100M

If you shoot a 25-06, what bullet have you had experience with that will give you an inch at 100m
I would like to stay in the 85-117 G
Thanks

What are you going to be shooting with it? Coyotes and such would probably like the 75gr V-Max.

Go with Barnes 100 or 115 tsx or ttsx. They group extremely well and will provide the best penetration performance IMO which is important especially with a smaller bullet. I used to use a 25-06 and was not satisfied with its performance till I switched to 100tsx and then was very happy-good penetration and good blood trails to follow.

yes for sure. Very reasonable price for a bonded bullet made in our own backyard !

I shot a WhiteTail buck with my 6.5-06 with a Matrix 130gr. FB but never recovered the bullet...Ill have to start hunting bigger animals like Ted.

Matrix bullets: If there weren't some trees in the way I could hit his place with a slingshot from my back door. I'm going to wander over there soon and try some of his 125 gr. 257 bullets and maybe a box of 165gr. and 180 gr. 308.
Why Not Ted?:D

Just started working up a load with the 100gr Matrix (RBT's) for my new 25-06 and will be trying the 125's as well.

First load with Hybrid 100 put 5 into an inch at 100 yards at 3050fps (with a 22" Marlin XL7 "cheapie"). Nothing to get overly excited about, but pretty damn good for the first try!!
The Marlin absolutely hated the Hornady 117gr factory ammo, 10" group (10 shots) and 3 failed to fire. Glad I bought it just for the brass and not hunting!!

Little bit of necroposting here.

Ill add that the Speer 87gr. and Sierra 100gr. both shoot really well for me.

Pending availability Im hoping to test some 130-135gr. VLD type Bullet (I have 1-9" twist) this winter for longer range shooting. Still need to get around to shooting the 100gr. TSX this fall and the Matrix 125gr. Deer hunting week is just around the corner for me but Ill be happy to use the Sierra's if I have to.

Here is a target from my Rem 700 in 25-06. Been shooting it for 38 years (I think it's that long). Deadly on deer. I use mainly Hornady 100 gr SP. Found a load using 75 VMax in case I want to vaporize something.

I developed a load for my .257AI with 100gr Nosler BT and H4350 powder. 3232fps. Nothing stellar, but not too bad.
