25-06 or 7mm-08 for deer rifle

Yep I did it. My bad for getting everyone confused.

as for the 25aught6 and 7mm08 issue, It seems the 7mm08 is more versatile than the 25-06. This means buy em both because its not fun having one gun for everything. It more fun having to choose which rifle is going out hunting!

if you only want to go deer hunting, flip a coin. If you want to reload grab the 7mm08

Well, I've never posted before but I've been agonizing over .243 versus 25-06 and have decided on the latter so here's my two cents worth:

The Browning A-Bolt 25-06 sports a 24-inch barrel and availability of the longer barrel seems to be a decisive factor in this thread. Hope this is helpful information.

If recoil is an important factor for you, Why not try .270 using 130 gr bullets. I don't believe 130 gr in .270 would have that much more recoil.

A .270 will sure cover you for large games from deer and up. Ammo is easy to find as well.

My 7-08, 7-08AI and 280AI show identical on game performance, and I've seen the 270 on enough critters to know it ain't any better (or worse).

GUYS! Stay "in the moment" !!
The ORIGINAL question was "25 '06 or 708"!!:D
I've used them both, and preffer the 708 for an all around rifle, but I like heavier bullets than what the 25 can offer me.
