Barnes was showing a load on their website with the 85gr TTSX @ 3800fps out of a 24" barrel.

Do you mean 80gr TTSX, or did they come out with yet another light-weight .257 bullet?

So, after all the input from everyone, and clearly making up my mind about what I was going to do....I went and bought a 7mm-08....I couldn't help myself, it was just so pretty!

So, anybody interested in a Remington 788 in .308, or a nice Hoyt target bow?? Something has to go, so I can get that varmint gun.....but now what should I get, a .25-06, .243, .222 .22-250 .204...........I think I need a therapist.

hey congrats on the new rifle and a great cartridge to!!! and my vote would be a 223 for your varmint cartridge!!!
