Who makes bullets for reloading the 25-20? I think Im looking for 86 gr. Not sure what ammo I had for this gun. ive been thinking about reloading for it but cant find any flat nose 25 cal bullets. I think they are 257 cal? Ive never reloaded for it but need the flat nose for my tube magazine.

I am using the Speer #1237 75 grain sp. It is designed specifically for the 25-20. Gives a good balance between velocity and bullet weight, the 86ers are trudging pretty slow IMO.

The last dedicated 25-20 bullets I bought were 60gr.Hornady FP from Higginsons but that was at least two years ago or more and I'm skeptical if they would have any left, may be worth a call. Our 25-20 handloading is much easier for me since our rifle is a Husqvarna single shot and I can use any profile in this rifle,75 gr.Hollow Points work well for it.I would not hesitate to use the Bullet Barn cast bullets available for this caliber,I've used lots of their bullets in different numbers with good results.

I have used the Hornady 60 gr FP #2510, but most of the time I cast my own with an old single cavity 257420 Lyman mold.

Great caliber to play with I must say.

I've been shooting the Bullet Barn bullets with 6.0 of IMR 4227 and some toilet paper stuffed on top.
This is for a Marlin pump. Just started setting up to try the Hornady 60gr.

Anyone know where I can get case length guage in Canada?
Anyone with a spare for sale?

If you use it as a single shot or 2 shot you can use any type of pointy bullets.

Rick Pearson of R&R Bullets in Maitland, On. is a source of cast bullets.

Thanks guys.
Mine is an old Remington model 25 pump with the tube mag so pointed bullets are out. I missed that 75 gr on the speer web site, I will look into them thanks again.
