had a 1892 and 1894 in 25-20. great little gopher gun and easy to reload for. Presently have a Cooey 84 in 25-20 with an extra barrel in .410. Good for backpackers. Love the caliber.
I had a Stevens falling block in 25-20. I had a different short barrel in .38 special and it was a blast to shoot! never should have traded it away... never got the chance to shoot the 25-20.
I have a Kimber Model 82( no 197/200) with vintage 6 X
Redfield scope. Shoots great with 86 gr spitzer bullets. I love the caliber despite its limitations. Just a hoot to shoot-surprisingly lethal on small game. Want to try it this year on coyotes.
Dad has a nice 1892 in 25-20. Light as a feather and a sweet shooter. We still have a bunch of Imperial factory ammo for it and I loaded up some Hornady 60gr ( i think) with some IMR 3031 when I found some new brass for it.
Dad shot his first deer with it years ago but it is a little lacking in the deer hunting department. Better for short range varmits.
2520 is a much better ctg when its loaded up to where win intended it to be. factory loads are terrible now I have a 92 that was gramps, shoot it a bit, very underrated when they are loaded up right
The 32-20 and 25-20 are of the same case. they are very thin compared to "modern" calibers. They reload well but must be treated with care. Slow & easy is your friend when sizing and seating these cases.
The CAS guys like the lever actions. No recoil, but still eligible for CAS. Too small for deer, but coyotes et al varmints should look out for a guy with one. Some revolvers were chambered it as well. Far too evil for most of us to have though.
