.25-20

It is an excellent cartridge for plinking and small game inside of 100 yards. It is available mostly in an 87 gr flat point bullet. (most 25-20's are lever actions with tubular magazines, hence the flat nose bullet) If you handload Speer has a 75 grain bullet available. Any good gunstore will have a box or two on the shelf.

The answer is, it depends. There are two .25-20 cartridges and they're different (not interchangeable). .25-20 Single Shot is not available as far as I know. .25-20 WCF is still made by Winchester, but it's hard to find in stock. Only place in Ontario that I've run across it is Lebaron's and last few times I was there they were sold out. I've got a Savage bolt action in .25-20 and it's a great little gun.

Excellent older cartridge, I think it was chambered recently in the Marlin '94, orig. a knockoff of the old 25/20 single shot, made shorter to fit in Winchester short lever guns('92), first real varmint cartridge, inexpensive to shoot, low noise low recoil, works well with cast bullets(as it orig. did), M.T. Chambers makes an 85gr. Fl.Pt. cast bullet for the 25/20.

I've got a Savage bolt in 25-20 as well, my gunshop carries the ammo but at $49.99 per box of 40 I tend not to shoot it alot. Just on the porcupines.
