I just picked up this rifle and was wondering what would be a good powder to try.I would like to use 100 gr Barnes TSX bullets.
25-284 700Rem s/a blued with 23" Bevan King Stainless barrel(Lightly fluted mag profile). At present the rifle is in a Ti SAUM stock I will be using Talley rings and a 3.5x10x44 Zeiss scope.

Just sent you a Pm. If that's the rifle I think it is, that's one of Rembo's first rifles. And it has a King barrel. A very, very accurate King barrel.

Edited to clarify: From my personal experience with that rifle I know that it prefers RL22 with the 100TSX. ;)

Email inbound tomorrow.

River Rat has a 6mm-284, and I had a 25-284 for a while. Re22 is magic in both of them.

Easy to get 100 gr bullets to waaaaaaay over 3400 fps out of 22" barrels, and outstanding accuracy!

I put that barrel on about 5 years ago. When originaly built our resident bedding and stock expert, (can't tell you who he is but his handle begins with ccc)...bedded it into a Boyd's grey laminate...I fluted it a few months after it was built......I think ccc and I fluted 4 or 5 barrels that day.....took a full case of Heineken to get them done, I remember that...and yes, it shot just as well after fluting as before....:)..still have the reamer....hmmmm......and a stainess short action....

That rifle has been passed around CGN like a bottle of Apple Jack on skid row....:D

I had it for a while, It shot like a house on fire with H4831sc and 110 gr accubonds. I think the Hogdon manual has data, when I looked at it the data was virtually the same as the 25-06. I worked up using 25-06 data.

If that gun is so accurate, why does everyone keep selling it?

Because we are gun nutz. Certainly not the first accurate rifle to end up in the EE...

Interestingly, some of the most accurate rifles I've played with had changed hands a few or more times.

shot well for me, worst 3 shot group was probably 1.25-1.5" or so. Most loads were between half and 3/4moa. Reason why I sold it is I just received my custom 260 back from the gunsmith, wasn't room for both!

I personally have never sold a gun on CGN that didn't shoot some 1/2" groups..some never even shot before I sold them....lol

I sold it to Lorne because I built a .25-06AI,don't need two .25s!It's a handy little rifle that I never really got to shoot. The .25-06AI grew out of one of Rembo's rifles as well.Too many rifles, too little time!Mur
