Hi all.

I live in Australia and have a 25/303 Epps on a P14 acion and want to start reloading it.

As Canada is the home of the Epps wildcats I was hoping someone had information on reloading, where to get dies etc.

I like making life difficult so I have a 22K Hornet and a .338 O'Connor's project rifle..

I'm sure CH die in the states has reloading dies for you, they have everything. Check case capacity and match it with something to get starting load data. 257 Roberts might be close, just guess.

Thank you.

Average case capacity is 55.7 grains.

Load data is non- existent that I can find.

T|he 2008 ADI reloading manual has load information for the 25/303 P14 in it. If you can't find it, send me a pm with your email address & I'll send you a copy.
I have that, well 2010...bloody ADI cut load data from the latest manual...303/25 being one of them so old manuals are the go..

ADI are notoriously risk averse on their loading data loading very conservatively. The loads listed for the improved version are nowhere near the capacity of the Epps cartridge but it offers a starting point....0.5 grain increases until pressure signs i guess!

Guy on a forum here is getting 3800 fps from a 75grain projectile...no pressure signs...2213 powder, over 50 grains...

I looked on the Ch tool and die website and they have dies listed and ship world wide. I think 257 roberts may have a larger case capacity so you could back off the start load by ten percent and see what you get on your chronograph.

you won't find dies or loading data to any degree it was not a commercial cartridge it was a wildcat you may have to improvise on loading data

the 25/303 was built in the 1930's in your country the epps is a improved version not much difference i found extensive data for the 25/303 so you could use that to start on your action which is as strong or stronger than any modern action you are safe

I have data on the 25-303 from the P.O. Ackley Volume #1 if that helps as a place to start ? IMR powders with 87 and 100 gr bullets.

If you can find information on the long 25 Krag that would be a good starting point, I believe some of the edition of the cartiage for the world book has informtion on the 25/303 also plus as mention the Ackey books
For my 6.5/303 imp I started with 256 newton information and the 243/303 imp I am going to use 6MM Remington starting low and working up

Case capacity of the 257 Roberts is about 52 grs of H20, and you can safely use 257 Roberts Load Data for a 25/303 Epps in a P14 action.

If your measured case capacity if 56 grs or larger, you can use 257 Roberts Ackley Improved (AI) loads.

.25/.303 British data .....case length 2.185" for use in Mauser98 or P-14 not in the SMLE unless each load is reduced 3 grs
87gr jacketed 35.5gr /IMR4064/3010fps........35gr/IMR4895/3000fps........35gr /IMR3031/3000fps
