I am looking for info on this caliber (wildcat) 25/303 Britsh or 25/303 Epps. I have found some load data but would be interested in obtaining a few brass to "play" with before I go any further. Thanks for any leads.

kombi has one. I'm building one.

dies can be had from Lyman, lots of info on the internet.

bevan King has the epps reamer, for the standard 25/303, talk to Rocky Moutain Rifles (corlanes) in Dawson Creek, BC.

I also have a 25/303 but not a brit or an epps, close to a 25 krag but just not the same. So what I do is start with new brass size the neck with a 257 roberts die, aneal, fire form, neck size, build up loads useing 257 roberts load info, and enjoy.

I don't own any wildcats yet, but the whole idea intrigues me.
I read that there is a fairly large family of wildcats based on the 303, and in Australia, and South Africa, there are a couple of semi-official rounds marketed.
I think the SA one is the 6mm Musgrave, if not mistaken.

Out of curiousity why would you want one vs say a 257 Roberts or 25-06 ? Sounds like an interesting cartride :)

The only reason(s) I can see are "yeah, it's interesting" and maybe the idea that brass is practically free---as are some of the rifles.
There are a slew of wildcats based on the necked down 303 Brit. cartridge, and all that's basically required is to bump the neck down in two steps. Usually with a 7mm08 or 7mm mag die first and then with either the correct die for the chamber or just a neck size die for 22/243/257/ whatever. Trim to length, fireform and just neck size from there on and you're done. Opening up a 220 Swift f/l die makes a good neck only sizer for the 22s, and you don't have to worry about bumping the shoulder back every time because somebody used her imagination when making the reamer.;)

lots of enfields kicking around at the time. I believe that there are a lot more of these wildcats down under bcause all they could get was surpless rifles but were not allowed to use military calibers

so they had to shoot something.

I'm more interested in the 35/303 myself :)

had a P14 enfield action, for $400 I can get a barrel tossed on it, have a new rifle to play with, a wildcat and a nice deer rifle.

or I could go out and buy a Ruger in .257 bob for another $300....

:D I know, I asked several months back :D Its on my list of potential projects.

as for dies and what not, once the brass is fire formed all you really need is a necksizer, and a bullet seating die and I'm sure that with a metal lathe I can modify another 35 cal necksizing and bullet seating die to work just fine.

I'm thinking a No4 in 35cal dressed up like No5 carbine

I have necked up 303 brass to 35-303 in one pass through my 358 Win die. Use the 358 seater to seat bullets and go to the range.
