25 Creedmoor Thread

No way 😊
The .25 Creedmoor is designed for a standard 2.800” overall length (COAL) to fit AICS magazines, similar to the 6.5 Creedmoor
. While specific base-to-ogive (CBTO) lengths depend on the bullet, the chamber has a 0.150" freebore. Typical seating depths generally put the CBTO near 2.100"–2.200" for common high-BC bullets.

The saami cartridge print shows with the Hornady .257” 134gr ELD-M the bullet seating depth range is 2.575” MIN to 2.825” MAX cartridge OAL.

Northernbuddy should be able to seat the bullet out to 2.800” OAL with some bullet jump with a correctly cut chamber.

Information is golden. So the data I posted was from loading Speer .257 120gr Spitzer soft point bullets. I actually did load a dummy round and gradually seated the bullet and then tested it in the breach, then seated it a little more and repeated the process until the bolt would close properly. I had not built a case for my Hornady OAL gauge yet, did not have any fired once rounds yet. The measurement 2.604 was the COAL for that round. The only reason I was shooting this round was to break in my barrel. I have now fired 150 rounds thru my barrel and have moved onto doing load development for 135gr Berger and 134gr Hornady ELD-M. I also now have a COAL case. So I have measured both bullets, Berger 2.845 and ELD-M 2.880. Recommended COAL for the Berger is 2.800 and the ELD-M is 2.825. For load testing I am going to load each bullet to the recommended length. So the fun begins
