25 creedmoor

Yippee! A sucky case mated with a sucky caliber... pure awesomeness.
While i'm not a big creedmoor fan, whats sucky about the 25 cal's? They're finally getting the recognition they deserve, and if you look at the ballistics of say a 25 cal 135gr Berger, vs 6.5 140gr, both at say 2850fps, the 25 cal is the clear winner. Not trying to open a whole can of works but look for yourself. Where they heavy 25's really shine is in a case like the PRC or SAUM. Those 133-135gr Bergers, 131 Blackjack (Sierra) at 3150-3300fps are lazer beams and they retain some serious energy at longer rangers.

I'd almost bet a 25 PRC (25-6.5 PRC) is next if the 25 Creed takes off as much as the 6 Creed did.

I love my 25-06 tikka t3 with 120 Grand slams it is very deadly, and accurate. I would not bother with the creedmoor version, already have 2 6.5 creedmoor rifles.

The .25 Creedmoor intrigues me, mainly because of a liking for .25 caliber firearms - my collection of them runs from the .25 Stevens rimfire and .25 20 Stevens Single Shot to the .257 Condor wildcat, forerunner to the .257 Weatherby. I may investigate having a .25 Creedmoor built.

Does anyone know if Ron K. Smith (or his son) have built a rifle of this caliber as yet? I have an RKS .250 Savage AI in a Winchester Model 88 action.

25 Creed brings the advantages of the 6mm and 6.5mm into one package. Of course posting this in the CGN hunting rifle forum is mainly going to anger the fudds

Thr 6.5 already does that, with better bullets and better BC... very little reason for the 6mm, and none for the .25 cal... the case is repulsive enough... the Lulu Lemon of the cartridge world.

If you went through all the cartridges available these day's and threw every one that overlaps with another we would be down to about 10, maybe less, it's all about splitting hairs, a 50 fps gain 2" flatter and 50 foot pounds more energy at 1,000 yards, 2% less recoil all of which the average person would never detect and most aren't even concerned about, if hunting with them no animal will ever notice any of that the bullet that hit's them has 50 pounds more energy, but they are new and they are hyped up via social media and that alone makes some people automatically think they are better.

I have found the 6.5 C is an excellent cartridge, very accurate, very efficient, cases seem to stretch less than the 6.5x55 which I own a few and love, it’s also a short action cartridge, this matters to some not so much to me. The only bad thing I would say is if I am going hunting deer class game is Iam more likely to grab one of my 7-08’s or .358’s in case I run into something with big teeth and a bad attitude.

Very glad to hear that... maybe now I can get back my Ruger No.1 Swede... lol.

Might have a different twist rate for the heavier bullets …myself been shooting 2506 and it’s nothing but fantastic for me out to 400 meters on deer and coyotes ….bear as well
Who knows they might know of something coming down the pipe with our government's attitude towards firearms
