25 wssm

No experience with the 25 WSSM but have noted many fired factory 300 WSM with split necks..........these fat little cases with small caliber necks seem to suffer from nasty hardening when being made. At the range one day there was an empty box of 300 WSM in the garbage and 5 cases on the ground with spit necks..........pretty bad !!!

The current production Winchester is junk. I have 25 wssm and 300 wsm from several years ago with 5 or 6 reloads on them and they are still in good condition.

On the other hand I have new production Winchester 22-250 cases that split the necks about 10% of the time with virgin brass.

I had a winchester m70 stealth in 243 wssm that would slipt necks sometimes.

I used to neck turn all my necks down as the wssm necks are very thick and therefore split.

They were designed to have thick necks and the rifles have chamber dimensions to match. By turning the necks down you run the risk of overworking the brass every time you shoot and reload a case.
