what bullet would the best to load for in my 2506 .that would do minimum pelt damage.i was told the 120 grain bullets would be better.?

A lot depends on the twist rate of your bbl. If it's slower than 1 in 10, you may not be able to shoot anything accurately that's heavier than 90 grains, maybe 100 grain flatbase.
As far as pelt damage, I feel for you. That can be an extremely difficult comprmise.
It's been my experience with coyotes, that bullets passing right through without expansion, usually run away to die unfound in heavy cover.
If you can make good heart or neck shots that may not be a problem, but it's unusual for them to stand still long enough for precision bullet placement. Even when eating they are moveing all of the time. bearhunter

In my experience you wont find a minimal pelt damage bulet for the 25'06
I've tried everything from 75gr. Vmax's up to 115gr. Partitions and the all exit yotes leaving some degree of pelt damage. High velocity impacts of any sort on coyote sized game with any bullet of 50grains or more is leving exit wounds no matter how you slice it. Best compromise are very frangable bullets of light weight and being of small diameter, such as the 17's, 20's and 22 cals.

Like the Nosler 224 Ballistic Tip 40 gr at 3900 fps out of my 223 Ackley?

I agree on the 25-06 being tough on coyote pelts. It is just the ticket for our big timber wolves, however.

I have shot several coyote with a 264WinMag using 95g V-max and also factory loaded 100g PSP(older stuff no longer made)The 100 make quite a mess all the time (exit wounds the size of small oranges)
I've had more than afew kills with the 95g V-max that never even exited, even at ranges around 150 to 180 yds. Some of the ones that exited (95gV-max) were not really messy at all, and afew others were.
I was loading them to fly at around 3250-3300 IIRC.
Here are a couple pics:
This male was hit in the chest (looking straight at me)So one can see why there would be no exit wound,,which there wasn't

This next one is a young female that I hit (95gV-max) at around 155 yds, broadside and only a little piece of the jacket was found in the hide on the far side along with a hole about half the size of my thumb nail.Damage was light

As I said, some aren't bad at all and others are a right off(with the V-max)
Give em a try.
