I have a Marlin Mod.62 in .256 Win Mag. Cases are formed from .357 Mag. It is a fun rifle to play with, and has accounted for 3 yotes so far.
If you get one feel free to contact me and I will tell ya how I got this one working for me.
Interesting to know they can be formed from a 357. I wonder if all that is needed to convert a winchester 94 is a barrel swap? I was thinking a single shot but a 94 would be fun for groundhogs
The magazine would be a problem, blunt bullets only, but if the .25-20 can do it, so can the .256 (I'm sure it's been done too). The parent case of the .256 Mag is the .357 Mag, very easy to form apparently.
V-Max's would rule out the '94 though. If you had a Ruger No.1 to rebarrel, that'd be a slick little setup that's light on blast and powder. There's been a couple .357 No.1's on the EE, piece of cake rebarrel and no ejector tweaking.
