I had one back around '80. It was a single shot Falling Block Works action with a 1 1/8" diameter, 20" Douglas barrel and topped with a 3-9 x 40 Bushnell Scope Chief. Fun cartridge to work with and was very accurate to around 200 yds on a good day using 75 gr Hornady HP bullets at around 2400 fps with IMR 4227 powder. A lot of pests an a couple of deer were dispatched with the bugger. Pity the round fell out of favor with folks over time, but it's still a funky one for handloaders to have. Could've had a Ruger Hawkeye single shot pistol back then for a bit more coin but went with the rifle for practical reasons.

I also had a near twin to that rifle in .38 Special that shot dang straight as well inside 100 yds. I should've kept both.:bangHead:
