257 Roberts Ackley Improved

I have been shoot my 257AI for over 10 years . the rifle is a Ruger M77 with the factory 22 inch barrel. My power of choice is H4831SC. My favorite loads are 55.2 gr of H4831SC under a 85 gr Nolser Ballistic tip BT with cci BR2 primers bulllet seated touching the lands , this load produces .425" or under groups consitanly. My other load for deer size game is a 117 gr Sierra game king SPBT over 51 gr H4831SC and cci BR2 primers bullet seated touching the land this load consistanty procuces .55 " groups . I have tried other powders but for me H4831SC is by far the the best for accuracy. Just remember that if you try my load data make sure you start off a couple of gr less of powder than what I have listed.
 
Thanks for the info. I can't wait till my barrel gets here. Have you tried the 75gr V-Max at all?

No, I am not a big fan of Hornady products although I have heard some good things about the V-max I just might have to give them a try sometime
 
I'll send you a dozen or so if you want to try them just so you don't have to buy a box.
