257 Roberts or 275 Rigby?

Ha ha ha ha....laughing maniacally at the thought of saying to my wife "Honest dear I REALLY need this Wesley Richards rifle in 7x57 for $60,000.00 dollars!"

I wonder what one might cost that has been dropped in the African mud and then trampled by an elephant and then the blood chewed off the stock by the hyena's??

PM sent about the RSI's.
Regards,
Dave.

That is the 60K one.................new ones are over 100K..........

Its all about negotiation. You push for the $60K double rifle, then allow her to settle on a pair of #1s, that way she feels like she's won, and you get what you were after in the first place.

Cohhhrrr Blimey Mate!....yer a freakin' Genuis!

WAIT A MINUTE....!!...."But DEAR, I REALLY need that new $12,000 shaper for my woodworking shop! Ohhh, I suppose I could settle for the $3000 dollar USED one that I found on Kijiji."

DOH!....I think that trick has already been used on me by my dearly beloved, the cabinet maker..............

I promised myself that my next gun purchase would be a Browning Citori for my youngest daighter so now I have to save for that AND a new RSI....or two.

If only a person could sell blood... or body parts in Canada.

Dave.

Or first born; be a shame to sell the one gifted enough to want a Citori.

I know this might sound strange to some of you but I have been slowly working my way through my family giving them new Browning firearms just because I can.

Browning because I like 'em....and because very few things in life retain their monetary value OR their sentimental value as well as a quality firearm. 100 years from now some descendant of mine will be saying "My great great grampa gave this smoke pole to my uncle/aunt/grandfather/grandmother..... and it is still working fine and looking great!"

Not too many things that an ordinary guy can afford to buy that will last through the generations like a good firearm. I don't go to the bar, I don't gamble, I don't smoke and we very seldom go on vacation. So this is my way of spending my "extra" money.

PLUS I get to handle all kinds of cool firearms and buy them...which is satisfying all on it's own. LOL

Oh yeah....and she doesn't know the Citori is coming.

The Ruger RSI is going to be for ME! :D

Good news! I'm up for adoption. Just in case you need another family member/browning recipient. :D

In a bolt gun I'd much sooner have a 7mm-08 than a 7x57 simply because I like short action rifles and the 7mm-08 should do anything the 7x57 would do. If I'm going to carry a long action I might just as well have it in 280 or 280AI. I realize 280 doesn't sound as cool or have all the history of the 275 Rigby but hey...........to each his own.
