257 wby & Caribou etc

Going up northern Quebec
I have a 257 WBY, a 270 win, a 308 win, a 338 win mag.

So Lots of choices. ya think a good 'ol Hornady 117 BTSP is ok bullet for 257?
Or do I need to buy partitions or something like that?

I shot lots of stuff with Hornady bullets and worked fine.

Whacked A moose with a 338 225 gr partition worked great as well - bullet was recovered and looks like it should - a ltiile mushroom - heck you can see the rifling on it - I will post a picture later

So here is the 338 partition. Was 225 grains now 198 so thats 88% pretty good
Was .338 across now it is .570 so 170% original diameter
Good bullets.

Caribou are pretty much the "softest" of the 4 legged beasts in North America.... I've shot about everything except turkey and the 2 big bears.... After you deal with caribou, I honestly thing pronghorn are tougher. A .257 Bee is almost overkill... That's what I used. Most guys I know use, like Otokiak said, a .223.

Caribou drop like a stone from 25-06 w 115gr NP's @ 3030 fps from Federal Premium. This I can attest to.

You are good to go with your 257 & 117gr. anything. As has been said they are the easiest venison to kill.

Have a great hunt.
