I thought so at first as well but case expansion at the belt is averaging only .0006". Case stretch is averaging about .004" per firing. Bolt lift is easy so I'm not too worried.
It could be that the rifle has a "fast" barrel, too. I have a .300 Win Mag that gives almost 2800 fps with a 220 grain RNSP bullet loaded 1.5 grains under max. (book speed says I should be getting under 2700 fps)
