EDIT:

I'm looking for a .22lr that is 26.5" overall with a non-folding stock - letting me fire it with rifle butt to shoulder like you would any of the longer variants.

So no ATI folding stocks for the 10/22, etc!

Something like the sadly :canadaFlag: prohibited:

Overall Length 26.5–32.5 in (675-825 mm)

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Your question is not very clear, but I take it you are looking for a .22lr carbine that is non restricted. What "extended" means to you I am not sure.

Anyways the Ruger 10/22 has many stock options and kits that can do what you want. There is even a new one out that turns it into a HK G36 clone. It is called "the marauder" by tapco.

There is the Ruger SR22, Remington 597 VTR, and also the Mossberg tactical 22.

im not exactly sure what your asking for

if you want a shorter 22, build one (over 26.5'') from components, or buy an exising model and cut it (keeping the barrel over 18'' if cut, and overall lenght of 26.5''). factory made barrels can be less than 18 inches, you just cant cut them that short.

Sorry guys let me make it clearer:

Your best bet would probably be a Ruger 10/22 with 12" dlask barrel.

Thanks - didn't see that one, will take a look.

The Marauder is not made by Tapco ... Its made by Promag .. its an Archangel

I dont understand the question either ... the MP5 has a folding stock as well.... but I would say the Marauder would be what you are looking for.

I don't own either one but would a Ruger SR22 or a Remington 597 VTR with collapsible stock fit that description?

They're both over 12" - you can pretty much make em go from 12.5 to 13.75

Also: Many MP5 are solid stocks or telescoping, not folding.

Wikipedia explanation of the extended wordage:
Fixed stock: 680 mm (26.8 in) (MP5A2, MP5A4, MP5/10, MP5/40)

790 mm (31.1 in) (MP5SD2, MP5SD5)

Telescoping stock: 700 mm (27.6 in) stock extended /
550 mm (21.7 in) stock collapsed (MP5A3, MP5A5)

Your looking for an Archangel kit with a 12.5" Dlask barrel, It measures about 26.75" at it's shortest and can be fired from your shoulder in that configuration. ;)

A Ruger 10/22 with a Krinker Plinker kit and a welded open stock and a flash hider that is welded on will give you a 28" overall length with the original FH;)

OP, are you thinking of something like one of these?

I would think the top one is very close to 26" OAL with the shorty barrel. Why 26.5" OAL? The limit for restricted is 26".

Yes to all 3 of the last posts.

Cool, thought the length of pull was much longer on the Archangels.

Thanks for all the info I've got a much better idea of possible configurations now!
