26" barrel o/u shotgun question

I am looking to buy an o/u shotgun, and have come across a nice one with 26" barrels and screw in chokes. I was wanting a 28" and now I'm wondering if the 26" barrels is a good option or to stay away? I am going to use this gun mainly for upland and waterfowl hunting. Might do a bit of clays now and then.

Your input would be greatly appreciated .

My favorite upland gun is a 20 gauge Citori with 26" barrels. It may not swing as smooth as longer barrels when shooting skeet, but it does just fine on upland birds.

For hunting my preference is 26" and 28"/30" for clays

Nothing wrong with it for any intended purpose, especially hunting. The longer barrels, even for clays, is a personal choice as some claim they can hit more with a longer barrel.

They only advantage to a 28 over a 26 is your gun is 2 inches closer to the target.

My FAIR Safari 500 20 gauge has 26" barrels and it will swat a goose out of the air or take out an ATA clay bird just fine!

Get some extended chokes and you will have 27.5
Close enough to 28.

Come to think of it my 1187 has 26" barrels. I hit ducks with it just as far as the next guy. 4" of extra barrel has no impact on that.
