As all on here I have a real thing for guns and tent to buy more "wlidcat" type cal than probaly some. Question is I have a good lead on a cheap Browning in 26 Nosler. Problem is I already have 257WBY MAG, 270WSM, 7mmRM, 7mmSTW that are all used for the same thing. Id assume other than pure physics the 26 would fall in the middle of the 257WBY, and 270WSM. From the stand point of the above mentioned cal already owned would it make much sense to add a 26 for anything other that just adding to the gun safe?

26Nos will be closer to your 7STW.
You have 3x 7mm, so you could part with one of those, the 270wsm and 7rm are pretty much duplicate in performance.
6.5mm pills have very high SD and BC, so it's an excellent caliber. The 26Nos will push them fast.

All of your cartridges are great in my books. Adding the 26 Nosler would not hurt at all, it probably has the highest BC for long range shooting/killing of all your cartridges.

Barrel lengths are an important part of the equation with the largest of these cases. I would want 28 inch barrels on the 26 Nosler and the 7mm STW.

I would get rid of the 270WSM and the 7mm STW, forget the 26 Nosler and then get out and use the 257 WBY and the 7mm RM.

You could certainly lose the 270 WSM, IMHO and the 26 Nosler would cover that apparent ballistic hole nicely..............however if the whole scenario has to make sense, then by all means take Dennis' advice, 'cause that is the most practical and makes the most sense. I personally have a love for the 264 WM and refuse to pay the price for Nosler brass........no need for a 270 anything with a 264 in the line up. Add your 257 Bee and 7 mag and all the bases are covered with style and no perceived holes that need filling. Reality is you have no holes now, but if you have a desire to play with the 26 Nosler, then by all means fly at 'er. That's the only justification I have ever needed. I have had every ballistic hole covered 10 times over for the last 40 years, from gophers to elephants but that has never slowed me down one bit.........I have at least one cartridge in every caliber from 20 to 50 (except 27 of course) from the 204 Ruger and 22 Hornet to the 50 BMG and have touched on the CF 17s briefly. They're just too tiny for my paws and I find fumbling around with them no fun at all, the 20 cal bullets are bad enough. Hell, I perceived a gaping maw between 224 and 243 so I had to build a 234 to fill it, several actually.......however this is now entering the "twilight zone" where any form of attempted justification is futile.......except for those jurisdictions that still use the 23 cal split for big game cartridges........there they would be fun just to harass and confuse the COs........

I know this is off topic but I have the 28 Nosler and love it.
Of course there are faster, more powerful cartridges but the 28 is an excellent one to work with and I found it to be superbly accurate.
Hopefully, I'll be up to hunting with it by Fall..

Slightly off topic, but I used to get my daughter to seat .204R bullets... :)
