Does anybody know of anywhere that has 26 Nosler brass in stock? or does anyone have a few extra pieces there willing to part with, i received my gun just in time for hunting season and dies but no brass or factory ammo, so if anyone knows of any or has either factory or brass please PM me.

If you can't find actual 26 Nosler brass, you can make it out of 7mm RUM brass, or any RUM brass for that matter.

Reforming from 7mm brass would be duck soup simple!

Actually Ted making it from RUM brass is a very long and unpleasant process which trashes a lot of cases and requires a lot of steps.

If it was me I'd be using 300 WM brass and blowing it out, I popped it out to the Ruger dimensions what's another 10 thou?...........I think it would work like a charm, I'd certainly be giving it a try with Nosler brass at 3 bucks a pop last I heard.........

Ive also heard the 26 nosler is made by shortening and necking down 7mm rum brass. Might take some work but will be worth it if you have no other choice

It is not easy moving a 30 deg shoulder back more than 1/4". I also means your entire neck is now necked down case body and must be turned and thinned significantly. This reform would take a minimum of 4 or 5 steps............

It's an interesting caliber, but Nosler needs to make brass more available at a better price, hopefully some other manufacturers will start producing ammo and/or brass. I think Weatherby is at the extreme upper limit for what people are willing to spend, and it's already too high for many. Nosler seems to be wanting to compete with Lazzeroni prices on this one and it'll flop if that's the case.

No, but worth every moment preparing it. Can't recall ever having a bad one.

Even mergansers make passable soup.....pass it to the next guy! ;)

Once played a long running game of "hide the merganser in the other guys gear" with an old shooting chum... on a particularly slow, late season day... a flock of what we though were bluebills flew in low, but as they flared, I called "Mergansers!" and dismounted my gun... but my over zealous (American) partner said "no to that..." Down went a Big, Ugly Merganser (BUM for short ;) )... it took him 30 minutes, a box of shells and half a tank of gas to finish off that merganser...
