26 nosler

There are several cartridges that run $3-$4 per piece of brass when you buy the Nosler brand:
7mm RUM, .300 H&H, .30/378, .325 WSM, .338-06 etc.

But at least with those you have other choices.

Can't be much worse than a 7 rum . It's funny how people jump up and down about 6.5 over bores being barrel burners but never a peep when the very same cartridge in a 7 is mentioned

I have a 7 RUM and really like it. It's definately not a target gun though. Took me a while to find a load that it liked and at one point I was ready to flog it on the EE because it was driving me crazy.
Eventually I found a load it liked and now it shoots like a house on fire. In all honesly, it probably only gets around 20 rounds a year down the barrel during a hunting season (most are to ensure the scope
is still dialed in).

just looked at my buddies ammo and brass yesterday, just don't get it- why not make your own 6.5x300 winmag and let the 26 N. die out- $3-4 a piece for brass if you can get it?, ridiculous .

I'd use this method and see the results:

Actually Ted making it from RUM brass is a very long and unpleasant process which trashes a lot of cases and requires a lot of steps.

If it was me I'd be using 300 WM brass and blowing it out, I popped it out to the Ruger dimensions what's another 10 thou?...........I think it would work like a charm, I'd certainly be giving it a try with Nosler brass at 3 bucks a pop last I heard.........
