Thought I'd put up some information for opinion/comment, I picked up one of the Tikka T3 Varmints in .260 when they were on sale in December and have been doing some load development in preparation for the outdoor shooting season.
Testing was done indoors at BRRC, over chronograph 10 feet from muzzle - cold at times, but the final test was done with warm rounds (cooler with bottle of hot water to warm them up).
(Update for Fassteel - plan to move outdoors and test same at 300 yards in 2 weeks for groups - and these will be used 300 to 1000 yards/900m)
Cases are all Hornady Match 308, once fired, necked down to .260 Rem. Primers CCI BR2 Large Rifle.
Alberta Wildcat 142 Grain Rebated Boat Tail, OAL 2.950, H4831SC @ 48 grains, Avg 2748 FPS, 16.5 FPS SD (standard deviation)
Lapua Scenar 139 Grain, OAL 2.950, H4831SC @ 45.7 grains, Avg 2638 FPS, 9.7 FPS SD
Hornady Amax 140 Grain, OAL 2.950, H4831SC @ 45.5 grains, Avg 2636 FPS, 7 FPS SD
Hornady Amax 140 Grain, OAL 2.950, Reloader 22 @ 47 grains, Avg 2743 FPS, 10.4 FPS SD.
