Hi Guys gauging interest in a production run of stainless m14 barrels
If you vote none of the above please indicate in the thread what you would like to see other than the options in the poll

What is the difference between the GI and medium profiles? Either way I want the 22" for this project.

Mark

GI profile is skinnier and lighter by about a pound. Should be affected by heat faster than a med profile. At least that's what I got by googling the difference.

Med profile will be same as Krieger med profile which means as large a diameter allowable whilst still using the gi oprod guide and gas parts

So, if you go 'heavy', you'd need to change op rod guide and gas parts? I can't buy one right now anyway, but curious how it works when you change the weight/diameter of the barrel. Where do you get the upgrade parts from? (just for future reference)

Uses the same gas system, but requires a different op rod guide. Check the Krieger website, they use a clamp on op rod guide, it shows the dimensions of the heavy barrel as well.

I almost voted for the medium profile 22"; but then I thought about the heavy.... I think I'd rather have the heavy. But I'll do everything I can to to support either a medium or a heavy profile.

Maybe also think about making the chamber short enough that 6.5x47 and/or 6.5 Creedmore are options if we don't want to ream it all the way to .260 ?

Gents:

I know that I am late to this outing...

However never the less, I would like one 22" medium profile so it will work with my BF chassis.

Thanks in advance
