second the .243 vote not a reloader and there seem to be a lot of these caliber available. Pardon my ignorance but what is the material advantage of the 260 over the more common 243?

The advantages of the 6.5mm family (Chiefly the .260Rem, 6.5x47 and 6.5 Creedmore) over the .243 is that they have a larger and more common selection of excellent long range and big game hunting bullets. Also, barrel life should be slightly better.
Frankly, the advantages are only small ones. I like the 6.5; but really, the 6mm is very close, and if good bullets in the 115-to-120 grain weight start to get more common, the difference will really be moot.

I will put up cash for 260 and a 338 fed in a GI profile
The 260 I would leave full length no brake
338 fed cut down to 18 1/2 threaded fore a brake

roughly $550 but I dont have any firm info yet and the eta is too open to change for me to comment
First run will be 22inch med profile based on the poll results unless someone has info to the contrary.
243 win and 338 Federal have not escaped my attention but seem to be less desired so unfortunately they will be later.
I have already built and tested a 243 barrel, had to reform the feed cuts in the barrel for reliable feeding without bullet damage.
Should be exciting for us M14 fans

You should do 20 person group buys with deposits for each of the top chosen contours in .308 , .260 and ... Wait for it.... .338 federal LOL
Ya I know, I can't get past wanting my own version of springfield's one off "Border Ruffian" rifle from that guns n ammo article way back
It's funny I was looking at a magazine from 2012 advertising M1A's in .300 , .308 , 243 and .50 .... I found that odd, never heard of a .50 M1A

Anyhow... If yer at 19 guys and "need" a 20th for a .260 run .... Mark me down I can always sell it later. :D
But if .338 F isn't possible .... I'd probably just prefer .308 short chamber

Edit: actually, Ian, what ever your first run will be, I'll take one for sure. These will be the first M14/M1A production run barrels in Canada..... It's a must have, I'm in

And I just emailed Clymer Reamers to see if they can assemble a pull through version (like their .308 and .30-06 renditions) of their great reamer for M1A installation purposes. I'm smelling some adventure here!

Cheers and keep helping all da noobs around here!
