Had a 7mm-08 dumped a few Muleys and a Moose, all with Horny's 139 grain interlocks(that was a few years back) I can't think of a single shot that the 260 would not have performed the same on.
Given your Criteria I voted........
260 8)

I like the 260Rem. Berger 6.5s perform extremely well!!

Elwood Epp's might still have a brand new stainless BDL in 260 for $599 (680 delivered in Victoria). 24" barrel, .665 @ muzzle, not sure of the twist yet, fancy engraving on receiver and no "J" lock. I might know someone who just bought one.
That's about the same price of rebarrelling an existing one.

Dennis did a custom barrel for me last spring. (a Gaillard) I'd consider it a magnum rifle to light varmit contour .738" at muzzle, 26", 8 twist. The rifle overall weight with a VXIII 6.5-20, steel mts. and ultra lite stock is a few oz's under 9 lbs.

I'd agree that any of the makers who make match barrels produce excellent barrels. I have a few Krieger (cut and lapped) 1-8 twist heavy barrels in stock if your interested. Can't recall the exact contour...
