Hi
I just got a .260 rem primarily for paper punching. Unlikely that it will ever go hunting....

Looking for low recoil reloading data for out to 300 yds because that's the longest range I can go to

I have lots of IMR 3031 and some IMR 7828 as well as IMR 4895 I think

Not looking for real technical stuff as I am not going to weigh every case, measure every case neck thickness etc....just want to have some fun at the range with reasonably accurate loads that wont get an old guys shoulder needing another cortisone shot.

thanks

The powders I've used are rl17, h4350, imr 4350. Bullets I've used are 120ttsx, 120 ballistic tips, 120 prohunters, and 130 bergers.
An excellent round. Your going to have a lot of fun with it!

You should be able to shoot full power 130-140s without even feeling them
7828 likely too slow if you can grab a can of 4350 or RL17 you will be set

My current load that i'm using for PRS matches is,
43.00 grains of 4350 in a 26" 1-8 twist JC custom barrel.
Fed 210M primers
Peterson brass
2898fs
SD 7
5 shot groups are 1/4" or less at 100m

There is very little recoil but enough to make me want to drop my load down to the 40-41.5 mark. This will allow me to follow the shot all the way in.

What bullet weight?

Lately, I have been shooting 143 eldx, 43 RL17, 210m, Remington brass to 2900 fps out of a 26.5" barrelled Remington 40x.
